MEC Environmental, Inc. (“MEC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit mec-inc.com, including our Colorado and California service pages, or contact us through our online listings and advertising, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you fill out a contact or estimate request form, or call or email us using the information on this site, we collect the details you choose to provide. This typically includes your name, phone number, email address, the property or job site address, and a description of the work you need. Our forms also allow you to attach files, such as photographs or project documents. Attaching a file is optional, and anything you attach is stored with your submission.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our site automatically collects certain technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, and the website or search that referred you to us. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies described below.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser. We use the following categories:

  • Essential cookies. Required for the site to function — for example, to keep a form working correctly or to maintain basic security.
  • Analytics cookies. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use our site, which pages are most useful, and where people run into problems. This helps us improve the site and measure how well our advertising brings people to it.
  • Business visitor identification. We use ZoomInfo WebSights on our site. This tool uses your IP address and information about your visit to identify the business or organization a visitor may be associated with, so that we can understand which companies are interested in our services. Information collected through this tool is transmitted to ZoomInfo, which maintains its own business information database and uses that information in accordance with its own privacy policy.

You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and how ZoomInfo handles information in the ZoomInfo Privacy Policy.

If you contact us through an online listing or advertisement

In addition to our website, we maintain business listings and run advertising on search engines, map services, and directory sites, and customers can contact us directly through them. Which programs we use changes from time to time; at present these include, or have included, our Google Business Profile and Google’s Local Services Ads program. When you reach us through one of these, the provider gives us the contact information and request details you submitted, and their collection and handling of that information is governed by their own privacy policies.

Calls placed to a phone number shown in an online listing or advertisement may be routed through a forwarding number rather than dialing our office directly, and those calls may be recorded by the provider or by us. Where a call is recorded, a notice is provided at the beginning of the call. We use recordings and lead records to respond to your request, to follow up on the work, and to review the quality of our service.

If you would prefer that your call not be recorded, you can call our office directly at 661-258-8060 rather than a number shown in a listing or advertisement.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiry and provide an estimate or schedule service
  • To perform the work you have requested and communicate with you about it
  • To keep records required for our business, including for insurance, licensing, and regulatory purposes
  • To improve our website and understand how visitors use it
  • To measure and improve our advertising, and to understand which businesses are interested in our services
  • To comply with applicable law

If you submit a request through our site or through Google, you are asking us to contact you about it, and we may respond by phone, text message, or email. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time by replying to any message or contacting us at the address below.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information for money.

We share information only as follows:

  • Service providers. Companies that operate our website, host our data, deliver our email, and provide analytics and advertising services on our behalf. Our website forms are provided by Cognito Forms, which processes and stores form submissions on our behalf. You can read how they handle information in the Cognito Forms Privacy Policy.
  • Advertising, listing, and lead providers. As described above, our analytics tools transmit information about your visit to Google, and the search engines, map services, and directory sites where we maintain listings or advertise collect and pass along information about inquiries made through them.
  • Business information providers. Our visitor identification tool transmits information about your visit, including your IP address, to ZoomInfo, which maintains its own business information databases.
  • Subcontractors and partners. Where a project requires it, we may share job-related information with subcontractors, laboratories, insurers, or property managers involved in the work.
  • Legal requirements. When required by law, subpoena, or regulatory obligation, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

Some state privacy laws define “sale” or “sharing” broadly enough to include the analytics and visitor identification activity described above, even when no money changes hands. You can opt out using the controls in the next section.

Your choices

You can control cookies, advertising, and visitor identification in several ways:

  • Your browser. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking all cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
  • Google Ads settings. You can control the ads Google shows you at myadcenter.google.com.
  • Google Analytics. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • ZoomInfo. ZoomInfo provides its own privacy controls and request process, described in the ZoomInfo Privacy Policy.
  • Industry opt-out pages. You can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.
  • Contact us directly. Email us at contact@mec-inc.com and we will stop using advertising and visitor identification tools in connection with your information to the extent we are able.

Do Not Track and opt-out preference signals

Our website does not currently respond automatically to “Do Not Track” browser settings or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. If you use one of these signals and would like us to honor it, please contact us using the information below and we will treat it as an opt-out request.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, state law may give you the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request that we correct or delete it, and to opt out of its use for targeted advertising. Residents of California, Colorado, and a number of other states have rights of this kind.

To make a request, contact us at contact@mec-inc.com or 661-258-8060. We will respond as required by applicable law. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide you a lower quality of service because you exercised a privacy right. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization.

Data retention

We keep the information you provide for as long as needed to perform the work you requested and to meet our legal, insurance, tax, and regulatory recordkeeping obligations. Form submissions, including any files you attach, are stored in our Cognito Forms account on servers located in the United States; when we delete an entry, it may remain in secure backups for up to thirty days before being permanently removed. Call recordings and lead records from our online listings and advertising are retained according to the retention settings of the provider of that service. Website analytics and visitor identification data are retained according to the settings of the services described above.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we collect. No website or method of transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information to us through our website forms.

Children’s privacy

Our website is intended for adults seeking environmental and restoration services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

Our site may link to websites we do not operate. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be posted here.
